The composing elements are Modules, which you treat as physical boxes with knobs and sliders, that you create, destroy, move around, connect and reconnect to produce music with any MIDI synthesizer, softsynth, or sound card. Modify any compositional element in real time and immediately hear the effects of your changes. Makes Standard MIDI files. The freeware SoftStep Basic, while complete and fully functional, can be upgraded to more advanced versions with purchase of upgrade licenses.
