What do you use this little program for Well, sometimes when you download MP3 files from the Internet the filenames look all cryptic. That's what my program's supposed to take care of. Let's say you have an MP3 file looking like this: Will%20Smith - M%20I%20B.mp3 Then my program would automatically rename it to: Will Smith - M I B.mp3 Looks much nicer doesn't it Then let's say you have the same file looking like this: Will%2~1.mp3 If there is an intact ID3 tag with the needed information my program will automatically rename it to: Will Smith - M I B.mp3 My program pretty much takes your cryptic looking MP3 files and rename them to something more logic if possible. All of this can of course be customized in many ways so renaming MP3 files should be no harder than boiling an egg. This program is perfect for you all who often download MP3 files from Internet!

Meracl ID3 Tag Writer 1.3.3

Meracl ID3 Tag Writer is a useful little program that helps you to write ID3 tags to your MP3 files by first fetching the available information from the filename using a customizable filename model and then writing the tag to the MP3 file. Doesn't know what an ID3 tag is It's the little tiny piece of information that's enbedded within an MP3 file that contains information about the song. To be more exact: Title, Artist, Album, Year, Genre and a comment. So what's this good for then If you distribute MP3s (legally I hope) the filenames sometimes get messed up so you can't tell from the filename who the artist is nor the the title of the song. Your MP3 player can read the tag though so you still can see who made the song and so. And where does this program come into the picture It takes time to sit and enter all this information by hand so if the filenames contain the information in any way and you specify the filename model my program automatically will fill in the ID3 tag information for you. Ain't that useful Maybe not if you only have a few MP3s, but when you have them in the hundreds or thousands you probably will find this program very handy.
