JLearnIt 4.1

JLearnIt is a thematic dictionary that allows you to learn vocabulary thanks to the questionnaire. You can also translate text (word by word) or search for incomplete words, sort the languages to get it in alphabetical order, rearrange the order of the languages, save your score, save as HTML, show only the languages you're interested in. Each word has a level often used(1)-technical word(10). You can choose to see only the words of a certain range of level or to be asked for words of that level. You can also add and delete your vocabulary and categories, cut/copy/paste even between your spreadsheet program and JLearnIt. You can change the language and the skin of JLearnIt. You can get more information about the word on the Internet, save your configuration. JLearnIt won't ask you the same word if you know the word (you can change the settings about what 'know' means for you). It won't ask you for the word that starts with the same letters as the translation. You can edit words and set properties for this word. The languages available are English, French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian, Hebrew, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Hungarian, Russian, Latin and Czech. You can choose another file than the vocabulary from the Internet or your hard disk. (French departments, Morse code, ...). You can also create a new file for you. JLearnIt is platform independent : runs on Windows, Linux, MacOs, OS/2, ... You can start it as an Applet or with WebStart. It's a fully functional shareware even after the trial period

Animated Spelling v1.0

The `Animated Spelling CD` has over 700 words (with sound) and nearly 70 animations (over 120 Meg!). The program has two games - a matching game where the child can hear the word and then match it to a word on the screen, and a spelling game where the student hears the word, then spells it. Help is given as needed to help the child spell the word correctly. As each word is completed a piece is added to a picture, after ten correct words the picture becomes animated. Two groups of words are available - beginning (box, boy, bump, bug, etc.) and advanced (because, become, behave, behind, etc.) so the program can be used by a range of age groups. It includes high frequency book words.

Animated Beginning Phonics v1.0

Designed for beginning readers (pre-K to 2nd grade) Animated Beginning Phonics covers upper and lower case letters, beginning and ending sounds, middle short vowel sounds and beginning reading words. Sound is used extensively to help the child identify words and letters. Help is available as needed by the student. Pictures of over 200 3D objects are used in the exercises. All menu items and directions are read aloud to the student to help pre-readers navigate and operate the program. When the student has completed a certain number of problems they can visit the game room with puzzles and matching games (animated of course). The game room has a parent/teacher control so the number of problems that have to be completed before the student can play can be controlled (5 - 50, or you can close the game room).
